Temazcal for Sober Living

An embodied, heart-centered practice to support recovery and integration

The temazcal, a sacred sweat lodge rooted in ancestral Mesoamerican tradition, offers a powerful container for people in recovery to reconnect with body, mind, and spirit. Inside the womb of the earth, participants are guided through heat, breath, intention, and community to support clarity, resilience, and balance.

Confidentiality and Identity Protection

I value the protection of identity and hold it in the highest regard. Photos are never taken or shared without informed consent. Names, stories, and personal details remain confidential. This is a safe space where privacy, dignity, and respect come first.

A Complement to Recovery Work

Many sober living programs recognize the value of somatic and spiritual integration. The temazcal complements therapy, group work, and twelve step practices by inviting grounding, emotional release, and a renewed sense of purpose. It is not a religion. It is a guided ceremonial practice that honors personal agency and meets participants where they are.

Inside the Temazcal

About the Facilitator

I am a first generation Mexican American and a former elite sprinter who turned movement into a path of self discovery and service. My parents are from Michoacán, and I am honored to bring back the medicine of my ancestors through this sacred work. I resisted the heat for a long time. The temazcal became my teacher. Through that surrender I was initiated to hold space as a temazcalero. Today I blend athletic discipline, breath, and ancestral wisdom to help people ground in their bodies, open their hearts, and reconnect with purpose.
